Lives and works in Beirut
Marwan Rechmaoui began his practice as a painter, before developing an interest in architectural forms, industrial materials and map-making. He uses tar, rubber, metal, concrete, glass and textile to create work that is inspired by the rich culture and history of Beirut, exposing the city’s multiple complexities and socio-political undercurrents.
