As a painter, writer, poet, credited with spearheading modernism in Syria, Fateh Moudarres’ paintings were influenced by the political turmoil he witnessed in the region as well as ancient Syrian art and Christian iconography. Moudarres is renowned for depicting various subjects in his distinctive abstract style drawn from multicultural references and earthen tones.
