Lives and works in Juba, South Sudan
Richard Lokiden Wani received informal training in photography from American and Norwegian evangelists present in Juba during Sudan’s second civil war. His use of a flash during daytime adds a sublime touch to his photographs of churchgoers, preachers and neighbours. His subjects are captured either sitting or standing, while reflecting a sense of determination and pride.
