Michael Rakowitz is a conceptual artist who creates public projects, installations and proactive events often devised in collaboration with local communities. His singular practice, subversive in style can be read as a form of contra-colonial history and an intervention into current and public affairs. Employing extensive research methodologies, he engages in fact-finding, focusing on situations that range from the personal to the geopolitical.
