RASHEED ARAEEN

Biography

b. 1935, Karachi
Lives and works in London

Rasheed Araeen was trained as a civil engineer in Pakistan, where his fascination for architectural forms, inspired by his surroundings, fuelled his investigation of geometry and abstraction. In the 1960s, he moved to London where he developed pioneering works in minimalist sculpture.
